On the second night of our 5-day March to Sacramento for Civil Rights, the First Congregational Church of Antioch hosted us with food and a place to sleep. During a sharing circle, they told us about their congregation's struggle to be Open & Affirming to LGBT folks. Their community suffered a painful split over this struggle, and they share their story here.

This is a wonderful video. FCC Antioch truly embodies the future of progressive Christianity. I am so thankful that the core of the congregation found the power within to stand up for what is right and voted to become Open & Affirming. The LGBT community owes so much to the UCC and the many other faith groups that have sought to include us as equals. The marriage equality movement would not be where it is today without the thousands of unions that they have blessed, ordained, and married.
